High temperature, heat and flame resistant silicone rubber coated fiberglass (fibreglass or glassfibre) fireblanket is the perfect choice for protecting a variety of hoses, lines, wires, cables and equipment assemblies such as electronic enclosures, valves, robotic arm and elbow protection, etc., from exposure to high and extreme heat conditions.
The special formulation of silicone rubber on this fabric sheds molten metals, slag, welding splatter, electrical or grinding sparks and contamination. This fireblanket also provides protection from ozone, UV and abrasion.
The standard color is red-oxide for the heavy duty one-side coated fabric, and silver colored fabric is available for light and medium duty fireblanket.
Two versions of heavy duty fabric are available and three light/medium duty standard fabrics are available - with many other specialized fabrics available which are custom produced to order within days.

High Temperature & Heat Resistant Silicone Rubber Coated Fiberglass Fabric & Cloth Withstands 500°F/260°C continuous exposure; Molten Splash at 2200°F/1205°C for periods up to 15 minutes and short excursions to 3000°F/1650°C.

Grommets and mechanical fasteners such as screws and bolts can be easily punched or drilled through the fabrics. Other fasteners can be attached by sewing or crimping through the fabric; allowing a variety of complex shapes to be fabricated.

This is a light to medium weight fabric, suitable for welding protection, grinding protection, and is often used on the cold side of insulation fabrications. It is also designed to meet the requirements for use in nuclear reactors. Meets UL214 and/or NFPA-701. Also meets NRC Guide 1.36 and MIL-I-24244.

Tensile strength 325 lbs/inch warp minimum / 250 lbs/inch fill minimum (ASTM-D-5035); tear strength 60 lbs min warp and fill (ASTM-D-5587); burst strength 600 psi minimum (ASTM-D-3786); flame resistance char length 1/16” max, afterglow 1 second max, flame out 1 second max (FED 191/5903.2). Weight and thickness as per ASTM-D-3776 & ASTM-D-1777.
